Surface at Civil Design and LDT

Everything we can do with surfaces in LDD, we can do in Civil 3D. In
general the Civil 3D environment works better.

If we mean 'can you paste our final ground surface into your existing and call that a "combined fianl surface".

Yes we can.

Toolspace > New surface
New surface > definition > Edits > Paste Surface.

Or is this something completely different?
Are we trying to build a finished road/grading surface in C3D?

First, to answer the question. No, we do not have to build the surface like in LDT. The steps (as can be seen in the tutorials).

1. Create a new surface (name, style, type)
2. Add definitions to the surface (and watch the surface dynamically update)
That is it.

C3D is so VERY different in thought from Land Desktop that I encourage we to get some training.
